Technique
Interruption Protocol
A superventilation sequence that steps down through faster circular breathing before settling into calming apneas — designed to interrupt overwhelm and shift state quickly.
Do not practice without guidance if:
- Pregnancy or nursing
- Heart or cardiovascular condition (incl. high blood pressure)
- Epilepsy or seizure history
How
Lying down or seated, breathe at a cadence of 4-0-4-0 for one minute, using the full breath wave. Speed up to 2-0-2-0 for one minute. Then perform three Peaceful Apneas, extending the exhale with a hum or a swishing sound. Return to normal breathing before acting on whatever comes next. Excessive use of superventilation techniques can reduce CO2 tolerance — this is a tool for occasional use, not a daily habit.
