The practice

You are not a machine.

Picking a technique off a list is the grind mistake again — reps without anyone home. A technique is only half the conversation: it's how the conscious you speaks to the unconscious you. Interoception is how you listen back. Every exercise here is meant to be practiced both ways, speaking and listening, not run like a machine executing code.

“Awareness is the foundation for all positive change.”

The drop

Dropping state on purpose, under load.

Down-regulation is the capstone skill, not a consolation prize. Anyone can settle on a couch. The work is dropping your state on command while the weight is still up, the clock is still running, and quitting would be easy — recovering inside the effort instead of only after it.

Vocabulary

The rest of the words.

CO₂ tolerance and activation techniques round out the vocabulary — useful, sometimes essential, but finishing touches rather than the foundation. Once awareness, listening, and the drop are in place, these are worth knowing too.
