Technique
Ocean Breathing
A throat-tensed, resistance-breathing pattern (Ujjayi-style) that slows both the inhale and exhale, letting you feel every subtle change as the breath-wave muscles engage.
How
Take a deep breath through the full breath wave. Tense the back of the throat gently and exhale with the mouth closed, letting that tension slow the exhale — use the abdominal muscles to push the breath out until the lungs are 90–100% empty. Then inhale through the nose with the same gentle throat tension, slowly activating the muscles of the breath wave and noticing every subtle change. Repeat for as long as feels good, keeping the gentle throat tension on both the inhale and the exhale.
