Technique
Reverse Straw Breathing
One of the only techniques that breathes in through the mouth — pursed-lip resistance on the inhale trains the muscles of the breath wave and brings sharp awareness to them.
How
Exhale 70–90% of the air in your lungs. Purse your lips as if drinking through a straw. Inhale through the pursed lips using the complete breath wave — you should feel resistance the whole way, challenging the breathing muscles. Exhale by simply relaxing: chest first, then ribs, then belly. Repeat thirty times. Do one set on your first day or two to gauge how your inspiratory muscles respond; if sore afterward, throttle back until conditioned, then build toward two sets of thirty per day. Avoid exceeding this to prevent unnecessary diaphragm soreness.
